Environmental Initiatives
IntaSect communications Corporation (hereafter referred to as “the Company”) will actively promote specific actions to minimize the environmental impact of global warming for a sustainable future.
Necessity of Global Warming Countermeasures
Average global temperatures continue to rise due to global warming. The Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (2013-2014) predicts that without proper global warming countermeasures, the global average temperature in 2081-2100 will increase by 2.6-4.8°C compared to the end of the 20th century.
Even if strict measures are taken and temperature rise is controlled to a minimum, global average sea level is expected to rise compared to the end of the 20th century, and climate change is projected to continue, including ocean acidification and a reduction in the sea ice extent in the Arctic region, making a response to global warming an urgent necessity.
Against this backdrop, the Paris Agreement was concluded in order to overcome global warming. The Paris Agreement is,
1. keep the global average temperature increase well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels
2. strive to keep the increase within 1.5°C
and has a vision of “reducing global emissions peaks as early as possible and as rapidly as possible in accordance with the latest science so that we can achieve a balance between anthropogenic emissions and absorption of greenhouse gases in the second half of this century.
Promotion Structure
We have established a Risk Management Office for a company-wide approach to environmental measures and to achieve our CO2 emission reduction targets.
Specific Initiatives
This is a specific initiative of our company. We will continue to improve them.
We will strive to reduce CO2 emissions by using cloud services that aim to achieve virtually zero CO2 emissions for our own systems.
Optimize office air conditioning temperatures and lighting hours to save energy.
Reduce travel and business trips and save energy through the use of communication tools.
Promote the use of green energy through the adoption of renewable energy sources and the use of environmental value certificates.
CO2 emission reduction targets
We aim to achieve virtually zero CO2 emissions as a long-term goal, and have set an intermediate goal of a 59% reduction (compared to 2021) by 2035.
