Feeling the difference of being an IntaSect employee on-site.

I have been working with customers on-sites since I joined the company, but at the beginning, there were not many employees from the same company where I worked. This sometimes made me feel lonely and wonder if I was really a member of IntaSect.
However, as time went by, more and more clients began calling me “Ms. IntaSect,” and I began to feel that I was not alone, but working with them as a representative of IntaSect.
We have many opportunities to work with customers and other companies on-site, but all companies have their own unique cultures, and we strive to build trusting relationships with them by understanding their differences.
When working with companies, I also try to maximize the value of my on-site work as an IntaSect representative, by taking into account their communication styles, decision-making processes, and the significance of each interaction.

How do you communicate in a multilingual environment?

I work on-site with customers in environments with a mixture of Japanese and Chinese. Whenever I have a meeting with a client or someone from another company, I ask them to contact me in advance via chat or e-mail with an outline of what they want to discuss, and I prepare relevant materials in advance. I try to avoid complicated grammar and redundant expressions and strive to summarize and convey the main points in an easy-to-understand manner using charts, matrices, and other methods.
It’s also important in communication to listen to others. Even when we don’t understand, we show an attitude of trying to understand the other person’s intentions. We use not only words but also body language and gestures to ensure smooth communication. When conversing with customers or Chinese colleagues on-site, it can be mutually difficult to convey your intentions, so I often sit in as an interpreter to help. In a multilingual environment, we aim to achieve effective communication by using various means.

A company that is supportive of employees with children

I have a child. I spent about a year as a stay-at-home mom combining childcare leave with full-time caregiving. However, as my child grew, I began to wonder whether I should remain at home or return to work.
I wanted to live my life not only as a mother, but also for myself.
After consulting with the company, I was offered a flexible work schedule that would allow me to balance family and work, such as working shorter hours or starting with simple projects.
The company provides a good working environment by supporting childcare and actively encouraging employees to take paid leave. Furthermore, employees are allowed to bring their children to company events, offering an opportunity for them to share information and provide mutual support.
I am truly grateful for the various support systems and the environment provided by the company.
