Basic Stance on Corporate Behavior

Based on its management philosophy, IntaSect Communications, Inc. recognizes that it is essential for the sound development of the Group that its officers and employees are deeply aware of their social responsibility in corporate activities, and that they not only comply with relevant laws, regulations, and social norms, but also act based on high ethical standards and in accordance with social common sense. Based on the recognition that it is indispensable for the sound development of our group to not only comply with relevant laws, regulations, and social norms, but also to act in accordance with high ethical standards and social common sense.

A. Labor

We respect the human rights of workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
*Workers include all workers regardless of employment status, such as temporary workers, foreign workers, students, contract workers, and direct employees.

Prohibition of forced labor (free choice of employment)

In no case will the company use forced, bonded (including debt bondage) or custodial labor, involuntary or exploitative prison labor, slavery or trafficked labor.
We do not transport, conceal, recruit, transfer, or accept persons for labor or services by threat, force, coercion, abduction, or fraud.

Prohibition of young labor

We do not allow children of prohibited labor ages to work.

Compliance with working hours

We will comply with applicable local laws and regulations, and will not allow workers to work beyond the working hour limits set by such laws and regulations. We will also properly manage workers’ working hours, holidays, and vacations.

Payment of wages and benefits

We will pay wages, overtime, and other benefits in compliance with applicable local laws and regulations. When paying wages, we will also provide workers with a pay stub that confirms accurate compensation for work performed.

Prohibition of inhumane acts and harassment

We will not engage in inhumane acts or harassment of workers, including sexual harassment, sexual abuse, corporal punishment, mental or physical oppression, or verbal abuse.

Prohibition of discrimination

We do not discriminate in any way, including hiring and wages, on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, place of birth, social status, social origin (family origin), gender, marital status, age, language, disability, health status, religion, ideology or creed, property, sexual orientation or gender identity, or differences in job type or employment status.

Respect for basic labor rights

We will comply with locally applicable laws and regulations and respect the basic labor rights of workers to organize, bargain collectively, and act collectively.

In addition to complying with locally applicable laws and regulations, we will make efforts to maintain and promote the health of our workers.

B. Health and Safety

Ensure workers’ occupational safety and provide a sanitary environment.

Workplace Safety

Identify and assess potential workplace risks (e.g., chemicals, electrical and other energy sources, fire, vehicle, and fall hazards) and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures and risk management to ensure worker safety.

Emergency Preparedness

After identifying and assessing potential emergencies (e.g., disasters and accidents), emergency response measures, procedures, and recovery plans shall be developed to minimize damage, and these measures, procedures, and plans shall focus on minimizing damage to life, the environment, and assets.

Prevention of occupational accidents and diseases

Prevent occupational accidents and illnesses by establishing regulations and mechanisms to assess the conditions of occupational accidents and illnesses, provide necessary treatment, investigate cases, and implement corrective measures to eliminate their causes, as well as to facilitate workers’ return to work.

Providing a hygienic work environment

Provide workers with clean restroom facilities, drinking water, restrooms, and sanitary eating conditions. When dormitories are provided, they also provide a sanitary and safe living environment.

Communication and education on health and safety

Educate workers about health and safety, along with providing them with easy-to-understand information about health and safety in the workplace.

Ensure industrial hygiene

We ensure worker safety by identifying and assessing the risks to which workers are exposed due to chemical, biological, and physical substances, and by implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures and risk management.

C. Environment

Minimize adverse events to the community, environment, and natural resources while ensuring a safe environment.
In doing so, we will also refer to environmental management systems such as ISO 14001, etc., in our environmentally conscious efforts.

Reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions

Track and document energy consumption and all associated Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions at the facility and/or company level. We will also continually strive to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Water Management

Water management is performed to reduce water use and to properly treat and manage wastewater in accordance with locally applicable laws and regulations.

Control of emissions to the atmosphere

Volatile organic compounds, aerosols, corrosives, particulates, ozone depleting substances, and by-products of combustion generated by our operations will be analyzed for content and properly treated and controlled as necessary before being emitted. We will also monitor and control the status of substances emitted into the atmosphere.

Environmental Permitting and Reporting

Obtain, maintain, and keep current all required environmental permits, approvals, and registrations in accordance with applicable local laws and regulations, and provide required reporting.

Pollution prevention and resource use reduction

We will strive to reduce the emission of pollutants and waste through changes in production, maintenance, equipment processes, or other means. We will also strive to reduce the use of natural resources by modifying equipment, using alternatives, reusing or otherwise reducing the use of natural resources.

Management of Hazardous Substances

Chemical and other substances that pose a hazard to human health or the environment are identified, labeled, controlled, and managed to ensure safe handling, movement, storage, use, recycling or reuse, and disposal.

Solid waste reduction and management

Solid waste (non-hazardous) is identified and properly managed, reduced, and responsibly disposed of or recycled.

D. Business Ethics

We will comply with corporate ethics to fulfill our social responsibilities.

We maintain a policy of integrity in all business interactions and prohibit all corrupt practices, including bribery, extortion, and embezzlement, as well as any relationship with antisocial forces.

Elimination of improper benefits

We will not exercise any means to obtain bribes or other improper benefits. We will have monitoring and enforcement processes in place to prevent corruption.

Disclosure of Information

Ensure that all business transactions are accurately reflected in accounting books and records, and disclose information on labor, health and safety, environmental activities, business activities, structure, financial condition, and performance as required, in accordance with applicable local laws and prevailing industry practices.
In addition, we will not falsify records or make other misrepresentations in the supply chain.

We conduct business transactions respecting intellectual property rights. We also protect customer and supplier information.

Fair conduct of business, advertising, and competition

We uphold the various codes of fair conduct in business, advertising, and competition.

Protection of Identity and Elimination of Retaliation

Maintain programs that ensure the confidentiality, anonymity, and protection of whistleblowers who are workers and suppliers, and maintain a communication process that allows workers and suppliers to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.

We comply with privacy and information security laws and regulations when collecting, storing, processing, transferring, sharing, and disposing of personal information of all those with whom we do business, including business partners, customers, consumers, and workers.

E. Management System

We will adopt or establish a management system to address the contents of this Code of Conduct, and continuously work on and improve it.

The management system is intended to ensure the following

  • Compliance with applicable local laws, regulations and customer requirements related to operations and products
  • Conformity to this Code of Conduct
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with this Code of Conduct

The management system includes

Corporate Initiatives

We will establish a management system to ensure compliance with this Code of Conduct. We will clearly designate a director in charge of the management system, who will be responsible for continuous efforts and improvement activities.

Responsibility to Suppliers

We will communicate the matters set forth in this Code of Conduct to our business partners so that they, too, will understand and practice this Code of Conduct.
