IntaSect Communications, Inc. ■Background leading up to the launch of the new service
The number of foreign visitors to Japan announced by the Japan National Tourism Organization in July 2023 (June 2023 estimate) exceeded 2,073,300, topping 2 million and recovering to a scale exceeding 10 million in the first half of the year.

Meanwhile, according to the Japan Tourism Agency’s preliminary national survey results for the second quarter of 2023 (1st preliminary report) of the Survey of Trends in Foreign Visitor Consumption in Japan, The amount of inbound travel spending by foreigners to Japan was 1,205.2 billion yen, 95.1% of the same period in 2019, before the Corona disaster. This is despite the fact that inbound travel from China, which used to be the largest market for inbound travel to Japan, has yet to fully recover, recovered to almost the same level as before the Corona Disaster.
