Minebea received the Special Encouragement Award in the “ID Linkage Trust Framework Business Model Contest” held as part of the “Demonstration Project of Business Models Using the ID Linkage Trust Framework Test Platform,” a project of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in 2014.

The contest was titled “Hospitality Services for Foreign Visitors to Japan with the 2020 Olympics in Mind” and was held under the theme of “Business Developed within an ID Linkage Trust Framework Based on Self-Assessed Information of Service Users.

We submitted an idea for a support system for duty-free stores, from online reservation and purchase to automatic generation of necessary documents and payment, and the provision of a variety of information services tailored to the identity of visitors to Japan.

The Special Encouragement Award will be given in recognition of the novelty and potential of the idea.

We will continue to promote the use of the trust framework.
