JR Kyushu Retail Co., Ltd. has begun implementing WeChat Pay with the support of Intasect Communications, Inc., a Japanese WeChat Pay Organization agency. This is the first introduction of WeChat Pay in Hakata Station. WeChat Pay is available at three stores: Hakata Meihin Kura Hakata Exit Store, Hakata Meihin Kura Daytos Store, and Hakata Meihin Kura Daytos Grocery Shop. The company is considering introducing WeChat Pay at other stores in the future.

Intasect Communications, Inc. ◼️What is WeChat Pay
“WeChat Pay” is a payment service within the WeChat application. Stores install the WeChat Pay payment application on their tablets or dedicated terminals and scan the QR code presented by users to make payments.
Users can link their bank cards to WeChat for a cashless, secure, fast, and efficient payment service.
As electronic payment is becoming the mainstream payment method in China, Chinese tourists traveling to Japan can use “WeChat Pay” to pay in Renminbi from their own bank accounts, and since there are no fees for converting into cash, they can make purchases efficiently and economically.
