■Outline
The pandemic of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has led to an increasing number of opportunities to point out that informatization is lagging behind, and the Japanese government is rapidly putting systems in place, including the establishment of the Digital Agency. In order to survive in the post-Corona era, informatization of society, business, and education is an urgent issue. According to a survey of U.S. companies, 5G (5th Generation mobile communication system) accounts for about 40% of total sales of wireless infrastructure products. The Corona Disaster has resulted in a surge in demand for ultra-fast broadband connections for telecommuting as well as for using bandwidth-hungry applications such as streaming video. Today, 5G is becoming the fastest growing and hottest segment of the wireless network infrastructure market. Today, Okinawa’s economic development has been built around the pillars of tourism and the IT industry, but has been severely stalled by the Corona disaster. Going forward, major changes and innovative policies will be needed to overcome this predicament. DX (Digital Transformation) is a major concept to shift people’s lives for the better through the penetration of evolving and advanced information technology, and this The forum will discuss extensively how DX must be addressed in the future by the entire society, including the tourism-related companies, IT companies, and other industries that support Okinawa, as well as government, universities, and education.
