IntaSect Communications, Inc. At the same time, so-called digital protectionist regulatory systems, such as restrictions on cross-border transfers of data and localization requirements, are being introduced worldwide, which is having a significant impact on the activities of Japanese companies. In response, the Global CBPR Forum was established in April 2022 to expand the Cross Border Privacy Rules (CBPR), which certify companies’ compliance with privacy principles, outside the APEC region. In this workshop, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) / Privacy Protection Commission, businesses that have acquired CBPR certification, people from academia / legal community / consumer organizations, and JIPDEC as a certification granting organization will introduce the forum.
