Since the Corona disaster, the digitalization of society has been proceeding at a rapid pace, and attention is increasingly focused on efforts to achieve smooth DFFT. At the same time, digital protectionist regulations, systems, etc. introduced by various countries are having a significant impact on the activities of Japanese companies toward the realization of DFFT.

The Cross Border Privacy Rule (CBPR) system, the theme of this seminar, is a global standard that certifies businesses that meet certain personal data protection requirements. Recently, there has been a move by the government to promote the introduction of such an international business certification scheme.

This seminar will focus on the direction of CBPR certification from the conventional APEC framework to global development, the significance of obtaining certification, and specific methods of obtaining certification, and will be presented by the Personal Information Protection Commission, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, businesses that have obtained CBPR certification, legal experts, academic experts, consumer representatives, and CBPR certified audit organization JIPDEC, the CBPR certification body, will provide explanations.
