Invitation to Exhibit at the 12th Western China International Expo, Participate in Business Seminars and Tour Groups
Dear Sir or Madam, I hope all is well with you at this time.
At the request of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, the Western Expo Secretariat, and the Japan-China Economic Association (hereinafter referred to as “Japan-China Economic Association”), we are planning to participate in the 12th Western China International Expo (hereinafter referred to as “Western Expo”) by exhibiting, holding business seminars, and taking part in inspection tours, as described below.
The Western Expo is jointly organized by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other central government agencies, as well as the governments of 12 provinces (cities and autonomous regions) in the western part of China. It is positioned as a platform not only for business and investment promotion in western China, but also for economic exchange with Southeast Asia, Central Asia and South Asia.
The exhibition will be held from October 18-22, 2011 (opening ceremony on October 20) at the Chengdu Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Center in Chengdu, which has 120,000 m2 of main exhibition space and 60,000 m2 of other exhibition space under six themes (western collaboration, international collaboration, high-tech, electronics, equipment manufacturing, and agricultural industries). In addition, nearly 100 different themes will be presented during the exhibition period.
During the expo period, nearly 100 thematic seminars, economic and trade business meetings, and other related events will be held. According to the exposition’s secretariat, the previous edition attracted 3,153 exhibitors from 44 countries/regions and 31 provinces/cities/autonomous regions of China, and concluded business negotiations worth over US$100 billion. In addition, the opening ceremony was attended by Wang Qishan, Vice Premier of the State Council, and heads of state from six countries, and a total of approximately 700,000 people visited the exhibition site during the period.
In addition to participating in the Western Expo, the Japan-China Economic Association and our company will dispatch a delegation to China to visit the “Chengyu Economic Belt” between Chengdu and Chongqing, which is forming a new major economic zone with a population of 100 million, as described in the attached sheet. In addition to cooperating with Japanese companies to participate in the exhibition by taking advantage of the preferential treatment proposed by Sichuan Province, we are also planning to hold business seminars on energy conservation and environmental business, and IT, software, and outsourcing as a project related to the exposition this year.
The Western Region has been experiencing remarkable economic development and market expansion due to the government’s inland promotion measures and the relocation of industries from the East. We hope that you will take this opportunity to develop your business in the western region and look forward to your participation.
Sincerely yours
